My journey into web development
My journey into web development began in 2010 when I returned to college to study web design. Technology and the internet had always been interests of mine, and I wanted to build a career creating websites that help businesses grow.
In 2011, I launched my first web development business, Kasper Web Design. As my services expanded, I rebranded in 2013 as The Web Serf, a playful nod to the early days of the web that has remained my official business name ever since.
After earning my degree in web design, I began working with nonprofit organizations and small businesses. I quickly discovered that what I enjoyed most wasn’t just building websites, it was helping organizations with limited budgets get professional, affordable websites they could depend on.
More than 15 years later, that mission hasn’t changed. I enjoy partnering with small businesses to create fast, reliable WordPress websites that not only look professional but also support their goals and grow alongside their business.
Why choose Wenatchee Valley Web Design

We got answers
A few quick answers about how I work with local businesses and support websites long after launch.
Why did you start Wenatchee Valley Web Design?
I started Wenatchee Valley Web Design because I wanted to make professional web development more accessible and affordable for local businesses. Many business owners know they need a strong online presence, but navigating websites, hosting, search engine optimization (SEO), security, and ongoing maintenance can quickly become overwhelming and expensive.
My goal is to simplify the process by offering honest guidance, transparent pricing, and high-quality websites without the high agency costs. As a local business, I enjoy helping other businesses in the Wenatchee Valley grow by providing the knowledge, support, and web solutions they need to succeed online.
Are you based in Wenatchee?
Absolutely! I moved to the Wenatchee Valley in 2019 and am proud to call it home. As a local business owner, I enjoy working with other businesses throughout Wenatchee, East Wenatchee, Cashmere, Leavenworth, Chelan, Quincy, and the surrounding communities.
When I’m not building websites, you’ll often find me skiing at Mission Ridge, mountain biking Number 2 Canyon, or spending time on the Columbia River. Living and working here gives me a genuine appreciation for the people, businesses, and community that make the Wenatchee Valley such a great place to call home.
What types of businesses do you typically work with?
Just about all of them! Over the years, I’ve built websites for businesses and organizations in a wide range of industries. I’ve worked extensively with tourism companies, nonprofits, government agencies, contractors, builders, and professional service providers, but that’s only part of the list.
One of the things I enjoy most about web development is learning how different businesses operate. I’ve started projects knowing very little about an industry and, by the time the website launched, found myself understanding everything from commercial HVAC systems to specialized outdoor equipment. Every business has a unique story to tell, and I enjoy learning what makes yours different so I can build a website that reflects it.
Why choose a local web designer instead of a large agency?
Working with a local web designer means working with someone who understands the Wenatchee Valley and is invested in the success of local businesses. I’m available to meet in person when needed, easy to reach, and committed to building long-term relationships instead of simply delivering a website and moving on.
You’ll work directly with me throughout your project, so there’s no sales team, account manager, or support ticket system to navigate. Whether you have a quick question, need advice, or want to make updates in the future, you’ll know exactly who to call. My goal is to be a trusted local resource for your website—not just the person who built it.
Do you outsource your work?
No. When you hire Wenatchee Valley Web Design, you’re working directly with me from start to finish. Every website is designed, developed, and supported by me, so you’ll always know who’s building your site and who to contact if you have questions.
I intentionally take on a manageable number of projects so I can give each client the attention they deserve without relying on subcontractors. That means consistent quality, clear communication, and a more personal experience throughout your project.
What platforms do you specialize in?
I primarily work with WordPress, which is my main platform for building modern, flexible, and easy-to-manage websites for clients. Most of my current projects are built in WordPress due to its versatility and strong ecosystem.
That said, I also have experience working with a variety of other platforms including Squarespace, Joomla, Drupal, Wix, Wild Apricot, Shopify, and custom PHP/HTML builds. This broad background helps me support existing websites even when they weren’t originally built in WordPress.
While WordPress is where I do my best work today, my experience across multiple platforms means I can step into most systems confidently and help clients improve, maintain, or rebuild what they already have.
Do you provide ongoing support after a website launches?
Sure do! I offer maintenance packages, support packages as well as hourly development. I would say the vast majority of my work is not the development of websites but the continuation of servicing developed websites.
Do you provide ongoing support or help with existing websites?
Yes. A large portion of my work is actually supporting, improving, and maintaining websites after they’ve been launched. I offer ongoing maintenance and support packages, as well as hourly development for smaller updates or larger improvements as needed.
I also regularly work on existing websites built by other developers or agencies. Whether it’s adding new pages, improving functionality, fixing issues, or enhancing design and performance, I can step into most platforms and build on what’s already there. My goal is always to improve your site in a way that feels seamless with the existing design and structure.
